Ming Ming, Birmingham Nature Reserve

New Red Panda in Nature Reserve

The Birmingham Nature Centre on Pershore Road has given a new home to a red panda. Ming Ming has replaced previous resident Babu who was semi-famous due to previously escaping from his enclosure (twice) in 2005. He was subsequently found in a tree in Moseley in the Holders Lane area. There is now an electric fence installed around Ming Ming's enclosure to ensure she doesn't go walkabout. The nature centre is confident that lots of people will want to come along and welcome Ming Ming.

Babu is now based at Edinburgh Zoo.
